SERI BEGAWAN, Wednesday, August 17 - In
strengthening the bilateral relations between the government agencies
and the private sectors in jointly supporting also maintaining the
governments' image, the Public Relations Committee of the Ministries and
their respective agencies (JPAKK and JJK) held
an Information Sharing Session with Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam (BIBD),
that took place at Level 2, Bangunan Persatuan Guru-guru Melayu Brunei,
today.
A
total of 35 Public Relations Officers and Public Relations
Practitioners, representing 12 ministries participated in the programme.
Acting
Director of Information, Dayang Siti Bismi Nuruliman binti Haji Awang
Emzah as Chairman of JPAKK and JJK in her speech shared, among the
objectives of the programme is as a
platform for the government and private agencies as the strategic
partners to interact, share information and experience in lifting the
governments' image and helping in the development of the country and its
people through the BIBD's Corporate Social Responsibility
(CSR) projects.
The
participants were briefed on BIBD's role as Rakan Kongsi
Kemajuan (Development Partner) by the BIBD's Chief Marketing Officer,
Dayang Hajah Nurul Akmar binti Haji Mohd. Jaafar,
among others touched on BIBD's commitment to support the government in
achieving the goals and vision of Brunei Vision 2035, through their CSR
Programmes, such as BIBD ALAF, BIBD SEED and Community for Brunei.
Meanwhile,
the Senior Manager of BIBD Government Relations and Special Project
Division, Dayangku Rodzi binti Pengiran Haji Abd. Rahman in her briefing
also explained the cooperation
programmes between BIBD and the Brunei Government.
She
added that Projek Tunas is an entrepreneurship programme through the
provision of a commercial space, to enable the entrepreneurs to practice
the extent to which the training
provided by BIBD can be utilised in their actual business operations to
achieve success.
She
shared that the project involving the participation of four vendors
under the Program Pemerkasaan Keusahawanan (Entrepreneurship Empowerment
Programme) under BIBD and the Ministry
of Home Affairs are selected participants from BIBD Seed Special
Entrepreneurship Empowerment and Development Scheme, Gabungan Usahawan
Transformasi 1K1P, Konsortium Mualafpreneurs and Usahawan Bakarih
Yayasan.
The
Public Relations Officers and Public Relations Practitioners were given
the opportunity to visit the Centre of Excellence and Empowerment which
serves as the hub of BIBD ALAF's
student activities, equipped with reading rooms, computer labs,
collaboration rooms, tuition and counselling rooms, IT technology
incubators and various other facilities that are intended to drive the
improvement of the learning quality of BIBD ALAF Students.
Also
present during the programme were Acting Deputy Director of
Information, Dayang Sastra Sarini binti Haji Julaini; Head of Government
Relations and Special Projects Division;
Awang Haji Yusri bin Haji Wahsalfelah; JPAKK and JJK Sectretariat
Officers as well as BIBD officers and staff.
JPAKK
and JJK established on March 8, 1997, where the Information Department
was appointed as the Secretariat and among other things to ensure that
the main goal of its establishment
can be implemented properly and orderly.
It
is in line with the goals and functions of this committee to improve,
fulfill and maintain the nature of the responsibility of the Government
of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang
Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam with the service and response of the
ministries also departments to the public in a proactive and transparent
manner in terms of policies, goals, functions also responsibilities as
well as the rules and regulations of enforced
upon the said ministry also departments that are known to the public.
