TUTONG, Wednesday, February 3. - The Department of Information, Prime Minister’s Office through the Nationhood Unit, Strategic Communications Division, held the Nationhood Briefing on ‘Our Sovereign, Appreciating the National Flag and the National Anthem of Brunei Darussalam’. The briefing took place at the Resource Room of Mahad Islam Brunei, Tutong.
The programme is one of the continuous efforts of the Department of Information in nurturing affection for the sovereign, religion, nation and country as well as to strengthening solidarity, patriotism and nationalism among the students.
A total of 78 Year 7 students attended the nationhood briefing delivered by Assistant Information Officer, Dayang Hajah Noorhijrah binti Haji Idris which among others touched on 'Our Sovereign', etiquette on hoisting the national flag and the historical background on the Brunei Darussalam National Anthem, ‘Allah Peliharakan Sultan’ in detail.
Students also had the opportunity to watch video presentations 'Kibarkanlah dengan Megah Bendera Negara', 'Semarak Pengibaran Bendera Negara' and the animated video 'Tatacara Menaikkan Bendera Negara', also present to enliven the briefing was School Principal, Pengiran Haji Asnady bin Pengiran Haji Aliuddin and teaching staff.
The briefing ended with the presentation of prizes to the students who successfully answered the Nationhood quiz which was presented by the Principal of Ma'had Islam Brunei.
