BERAKAS, July 26 – In conjunction with the 64th birthday anniversary of His Majesty The Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, a Knowledge Convention (Majlis Ilmu 2010) has been organised.
Present to officially open the convention was His Majesty The Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam held at the International Convention Centre.
In his titah (royal speech), His Majesty among others touched on the importance of protecting Brunei Darussalam’s national philosophy – Melayu Islam Beraja (MIB) from fading or weakened by any influences in the form of ideology or system.
MIB, according to His Majesty, is the soul of Brunei. It could not be seen through the naked eyes but it should be seen through understanding and awareness. Everyone should understand that MIB is not a narrow path but one that is long and wide. It promises comfort and welfare to everyone.
His Majesty expressed his hope that the Knowledge Convention will be able to change the perception on MIB.
