M'sian, Thai delegates visit Info Dept

The group of 10 information officers from Malaysia and Thailand who are currently in the country on a five-day visit beginning July 24 visited the Information Department, Prime Minister's Office yesterday.

From Malaysia, the group comprises Deputy Director Media and Corporate Communication, Datin Mahizah Abd Malik; Assistant Director Research and Strategic Planning, Shahrom Abdullah; Information Officer Port Dickson District, Misnan Madiman; Assistant Publication Officer, Siti Norazila Hj Mahshan; and Assistant Information International Relations, Masara Mohd Isa.

Thailand's group comprises Provincial PRO, Choochock Thongtaluang; National Policy and Planning Development Officer, Surachana Roechana; PRO Region 2, Mathurin Siritap; and from National News Bureau of Thailand, Phanita Sungkavisit and Tayat Theerakew.

The visitors witnessed the Pentarama show in Kuala Belait organised by the Information Department, took part in the Brunei-Muara get-together session of with His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam as well as visits to Department of Information and Printing, RTB, Brunei Press and Kg Sungai Matan Village Council.

Their visit yesterday to the Information Department saw them presented with a briefing on the organisational structure of the department and the roles and functions of the department as a government agency responsible for disseminating information to the community and residents of the country.

The briefing was presented by Acting Deputy Director, Hjh Norashidah Hj Ali Omar and Information Officer, Musa Mohiddin.
