Pelita Brunei is the official government newspaper where it was first published on February 15, 1956. Three hundred copies were issued fortnightly using cyclostyled form. In 1959, printing machines were used.
Since July 7, 1965, Pelita Brunei was published every Wednesday - a schedule which has been maintained until 2008.
Pelita Brunei further evolved with the launching of the ePelita system in 2008 where its news are now available daily through its website followed by its hardcopy available every Wednesday and Saturday.
