The spirit of nationhood continues to be nurtured



BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Saturday, March 7. – The Department of Information, the Prime Minister's Office through its Nationhood Unit, Nationhood and Community Division, held a Nationhood Briefing Programme on ‘Our Sovereign, Appreciating the National Flag and National Anthem of Brunei Darussalam’ at Katok Secondary School. 
A total of 89 students from Year 7 attended the briefing at the school's conference room.  Also present to enliven the briefing was School Principal, Dayang Penroose Saleha binti Haji Mohd Salleh and Deputy Principal of Administration, Dayang Hajah Siti binti Pungut. 
The nationhood briefing programme was delivered by Acting Information Officer as Head of International Affairs Unit, Department of Information, Dayang Hajah Noorhijrah binti Haji Idris. At the briefing, she among others touched on 'Our Sovereign', etiquette on hoisting the national flag and the historical background on the Brunei Darussalam National Anthem, ‘Allah Peliharakan Sultan’ in detail.
The programme is one of the continuous efforts of the Department of Information in nurturing affection for the sovereign, religion, nation and country. In addition, the programme plays an important role in strengthening solidarity, patriotism and nationalism among the students through the national anthem and national flag.
At the programme, the students had the opportunity to watch video clips of 'Kibarkanlah Dengan Megah Bendera Negara', 'Semarak Pengibaran Bendera Negara' and an animation clip of the etiquette on how to hoist  the national flag properly.
To enliven the atmosphere, the students also had the opportunity to participate in the Nationhood Quiz conducted by the Department of Information. The briefing concluded with the prizes presentation to the students who successfully answered the nationhood quiz.
