Information Youth Partnership Programme boosts students’ spirit of patriotism

Bandar Seri Begawan, Saturday, January 4. - The Information Youth Partnership Programme (RRP) is intended to reach out to teenagers in schools to keep them up to date and to instil a spirit of patriotism and social responsibility among teenagers.
Accordingly, the Department of Information through its Nationhood Unit of the Nationhood and Community Division continued its series of RRP at Katok Secondary School (SMK).
Present as guest of honour was the Principal of SMK, Dayang Penroose Saleha binti Haji Mohd. Salleh.
Also present at the event were Information Officer Awang Mohammad Hisyam bin Idris, Information Officer; teaching staff; and 315 students of Year 9 and 10 of the school.
In a welcoming speech, the Principal of SMK among others explained that through the RRP, students are expected to gain useful benefits. 
In addition, she said, the programme would be able to inject the spirit of patriotism among the students.
At the event, a briefing on ‘Our Sovereign, Appreciating the National Flag and the National Anthem of Brunei Darussalam’ was presented by Assistant Information Officer, Dayang Hajah Noorhijrah binti Haji Idris followed by a video clip of 'Kibarkan Bendera Negara dengan Megah'.
The event was followed by a solo performance by Awang Mohammad Nor Amiruddin bin Haji Brahim from the Department of Information as well as a comedy sketch and a nationhood quiz by Dayang Hajah Kasumawati binti Haji Buntar and Haji Mohd. Firdaus bin Haji Salleh.​
