SENGKURONG, Monday, March 4. - The Department of Information, Prime Minister's Office through its International Affairs Unit, as the Secretariat for the Sub-Committee on Information (SCI) ASEAN - COCI organised a Get To Know ASEAN Roadshow at Sayyidina Husain Secondary School.
The programme is one of the Department of Information's ongoing efforts in injecting the spirit of patriotism and unity amongst the students to equally appreciate the functions and objectives of ASEAN, while also strengthening the relationship between the Department of Information and the community, especially the students in Brunei Darussalam.

Present as the guest of honour was Principal of Sayyidina Husain Secondary School, Dayangku  Hajah Nooramaliatifah binti Pengiran Haji Ahmad. Also present were teachers and 180 students of the school. The roadshow took place in the Multipurpose Hall of the School.
Among the objectives of the 'Get To Know ASEAN' Briefing was to promote and disseminate general knowledge related to ASEAN to secondary school students in the country as they are the youths who will inherit the continuity of the nation, thus play an important role in catalysing this country's direction.
The briefing also promotes awareness and a sense of belonging amongst school students as a member of the ASEAN community, in line with the ASEAN Moto: One Vision, One Identity, One Community.

The roadshow was followed with a briefing on the Brunei Vision 2035 and its strategic planning which students are required to know. It also aims to increase students' awareness on regional development and as a source of encouragement for them to work harder to develop the country towards achieving the Brunei Visions 2035.
The briefing began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, followed by the National Anthem of Brunei Darussalam 'Allah Peliharakan Sultan' and the ASEAN Theme Song.

The 'Get To Know ASEAN' briefing was presented by Information Field Officer, International Affairs Unit, Awang Mohd. Adi Zamhari bin Haji Awang Yahya, followed  by a video clip on ASEAN.
The students also had the opportunity to participate in the ASEAN Quiz conducted by Assistant Information Field Officer, International Affairs Unit, Dayang Jorrani binti Haji Zainal followed by the presentation of prizes by the Principal of the school to 10 students.
