BELAIT, Saturday, 20 October. - Department of Information, Prime Minister's Office through the Belait District Information Branch held Personal Contact (Sua Muka) programme at the residence of Head of Kampung Mumong 'A' who is also the Acting Head of Kampung Mumong 'B'.

 

The Department of Information  is led by  its Acting Director, Awang Mawardi bin Haji Mohammad and accompanied by several officers and staff from the headquarter and Belait District Information Branch.

 

Also present were head of Kampung Mumong 'A', who is also the Acting Head of Kampung Mumong 'B', Awang Haji Mohd. Yusof bin Haji Dulamin; members of the Village Consultative Council (MPK); members of the village woman's bureau and the residents of both villages.

 

It is a platform to obtain issues and opinions, suggestions that need to be taken into account and actions by the relevant parties in the government, as well as to disseminate and promote the development and progress of the mukim and kampung, especially the places and their products to be introduced to the public within and outside the country through the writing of article 'Kenali Negara Kitani' or KNK which published in PELITA BRUNEI.

 

The programme also shared ways to address information related to fake news that could affect peace, causing confusion and fear to the public; the use of the national flag during the national festivity in the right way and ensure the flag does not fade its colour including a picture of the sovereign that needs to be properly displayed

 

Also shared is the 'InfoDeptBN' Information Mobile application explained the procedure to download the 'InfoDeptBN' app through Google Playstore for Android and App Store users for iOS users; emphasised the importance of hygiene in line with His Majesty The Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam titah in conjunction with the Ceremonial Opening of the Legislative Council on  5 March 2018, which gives serious attention on the issue of hygiene, especially on keeping Brunei free from rubbish and dirt, and law associated with it.

 

Initiatives of no plastic bag use are also well-deserved to ensure the government's desire for no plastic bag usage by 1 January, 2019.

 

The issues raised during the programme were issues related to public facilities and infrastructure, cleanliness, foreign workers' issues and public welfare affairs.

 

The Village Head Mumong 'A' / Acting Head of Kampung Mumong 'B', Awang Haji Mohd. Yusof bin Haji Dulamin was appointed as Head of Village on 1 February 2003

 

Kampung Mumong 'A' and Mumong 'B' have a population of 9,637 people and have public facilities including a Kampung Mumong Prayer Hall, Belait Arabic School, Post Office and a Mumong Sports Complex.

 

The products of both villages are chili sauce, Rosella cordial and jam, Buahulu cake, Marble cake, curry and Dodol.
