The Information Department receives a visit from Chung Hwa Secondary School

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Isnin, 20 November – The Information Department received visitors from Chung Hwa Secondary School (SM CH), Kuala Belait.
 
A total of 45 students from year 8, and 2 supervisors from the school were briefed on the Information Department work strategies presented by Assistant Information Officer of the Public Relations Unit and Media Services, Information Department, Dayang Hajah Noorhijrah binti Haji Idris , followed by a short video clip on 'Commemorating in conjunction with the Anniversary of the 65th Anniversary of the Information Department' and a short video clip of the 'InfoDeptBN' mobile application by the Information Department. 

The 'InfoDeptBN' app which was launched this year, is a mobile app that can be downloaded through Google Play for Android users and Apps Store for iOS users.
 
The 'InfoDeptBN' app contains various information including the E-paper version of Pelita Brunei, information regarding the Monarch of Brunei, Prayer Times, a brief description about Brunei Darussalam, Brunei Diary and Job Vacancy advertisements.

The students were also given an opportunity to ask questions in the question and answer session after the briefing, before touring the Pelita Brunei Unit, Publications and Graphic Arts Unit, and the Mini Library of the Information Department.


The Information Department, formerly known as Information Services was established on 1 April 1952.
 
The main role of the Information Department is to act as the government's tongue, eyes and ears in delivering information and news on government policies, activities and programmes, as well as listening to the latest issues in line with the department's motto, "Nurturing An Informed Society'
