Noor / Morshidi MUARA, Thursday 30 November - The 'Bersua Muka Programme' or also known as the 'Personal Contact Programme' in an atmosphere of goodwill is a platform for the Information Department, the Prime Minister's Office to continuously approach and provide information to the citizens and residents in all parts of the country through the Penghulu and Heads of Villages. Conducted through the Public Relations Unit, Nationhood and Community Division, Information Department, the programme will continue to collaborate closely in the community affairs where the officers and staff have the opportunity to listen to issues and proposals from the citizens and residents in the area concerned, which will then be informed to relevant government agencies for assessment and further action. The Personal Contact Programme can serve as a platform for delivering the latest information and government efforts to grassroots leaders to share with the villagers. Earlier, the Acting Director of the Information Department, Awang Mawardi bin Haji Mohammad, led a group of officers and staff of the Information Department to visit the residence of the Head of Village of Pekan Lama / Kampong Sabun / Kampong Pelumpong / Kampong Serasa and National Housing Development Plan Kampung Serasa, Yang Berhormat Pengiran Haji Mohamed bin Pengiran Hj Osman@Othman at Kampung Sabun, Jalan Perusahaan Muara. During the programme, the Head of Village, along with the Village Consultative Council Members (MPK), also proposed several suggestions relating to infrastructure, environment, welfare and public amenities. At the same time, the department also touched on the use of the national flag, banners and materials of national importance as well as reading materials on the Vision of Brunei 2035 and the Syariah Criminal Code of 2013 issued by the Acting Director. He also touched on the Informative Community Programme, which is one of the platforms that can be joined by villagers. The Informative Community Programme is intended to provide official information on the government's policies and intentions so that all members of the community understand, support and appreciate them effectively through the presentation of briefings, dialogue sessions and a series of visits. At the same time, the development and progress of the village was also explored, especially in local products such as crackers which have penetrated the overseas market and introduced other economic activities to the public through writing articles through the "Know Our Country" also known as 'Kenali Negara Kitani' (KNK) column, published in the official government newspaper, Pelita Brunei, in line with the role of the Information Department as the tongue, eyes and ears of the government. Also described was the Information Department's Mobile Application, InfoDeptBN, presented by a representative from the Public Relations and Media Unit, Awang Rahmat Shukurillah bin Harith. During the Personal Contact Programme, Yang Berhormat Ketua Kampung Pekan Lama / Kampung Sabun / Kampung Pelumpong / Kampung Serasa and National Housing Development Plan Kampung Serasa, responded well to the initiatives made by the Information Department. Yang Berhormat also recalled on previous visits in around 2014, which resulted in positive developments. Kampung Pekan Lama / Kampung Sabun / Kampong Pelumpong / Kampong Serasa and National Housing Development Plan Kampung Serasa see are villages around Pekan Muara, located about 25 kilometres from the city centre, Bandar Seri Begawan, which has also received infrastructure like other villages in the country which is reflected in the rapid development of the industrial sector.
