MS PDB emerges as netball champion in the Information Department Commemorative Competition

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Sunday, 14 May - The Sports Council of the Royal Brunei Police Force (MS RBPF) emerges as the champion in the Netball competition organised by Department of Information, held at the Multipurpose Hall of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex.


The Champ was left a little bit behind by the invited Team from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MoFAT) but fought back to beat the invited Team with a score of 12-6.


Meanwhile, the organising team perform so well this year and place in the third position after winning over the Department of Electrical Services (DES) with score 0f 7-6.


Prizes were presented by the Deputy Permanent Secretary (IT, e-Government and Industry) in the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), Dayang Hajah Tutiaty Haji Abdul Wahab.


A total of 10 teams participated in the tournament which was organised in conjunction with the 65th establishment of the Department of Information commemoration.


This year for the netball event, the categories were divided into two groups, Group 'A' consists of Prime Minister’ Office, Narcotics Control Bureau, Department of Internal Security as well as two invited teams, namely MS RBPF and MOFAT.


While Group 'B' are the Department of Radio Television Brunei, Department Of Electrical Services, Department of Brunei Printing, e-Government National Centre and Department of Information.


W / PC 6089 Norakidah Hj Mahwan from MS PDB was named the Player of the Year. 


In addition to the netball competitions, the Department of Information also organised a futsal and badminton competitions with the goal as to strengthen the comradeship and to promote a healthy lifestyle.
